We took a mini family trip this weekend to Amelia Island. It is an island about 30 minutes north of us.
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, which I must say was quite a step up from the motels we stayed in on our road trip down here.
Here are mom and I watching the sunset on our balcony...we also enjoyed eating our breakfast out there.
The hotel had the biggest gingerbread house I have ever seen. It took over 3,000 egg whites to make it! It looked and smelled so good I started to drool!
We lucked out and had beautiful weather so we did a little beachcombing and dolphin watching. It was a great time!
We also got daring and tried out some new resturants, like this place on the intercoastal called B.A. Pig BBQ! Only my parents would take me to a place like this!

I have heard wonderful things about Amelia Island! What a nice way to end 2006 in Florida. We love you. Santa stopped by and left some presents under the tree for you!
